Guest Posting Guidelines

Would you like to write a guest post for CityVids.tv Denver?

Guest posting helps you get exposure to your own blog or website! We love having guests on topics related to things to do and see here in Denver-metro area. Some topics we are particularly interested in are:

  • Neighborhood Profiles
  • Locals’ Secrets
  • List style posts like “Best of…” or “What to do on a rainy day in Denver” etc.
  • Day trips or weekend trips from Denver
  • Art and culture

To be considered for a guest post featured on CityVids.tv Denver, please send an email with your proposed topic to Marianne Y: marianne [at] cityvids [dot] tv
and make sure your post can meet all the following guidelines:

1. Content – Make sure the post is useful. Try to include tips that readers can use immediately. Remember that this website is about things to do and see in Denver from a local’s perspective, and I’d like your post to relate to that topic.

2. Readability – Make your post scannable: include headers, sub-headers, use bold text for emphasis or use numbered or bullet pointed lists.

3. Editing – Please edit and proofread your post carefully. Correct grammar (or reasonably correct grammar!) matters, and we hope it matters to you. We may edit your post to improve punctuation or break up long paragraphs. Ideally paragraphs should be no longer than 3-4 sentences.

4. Originality – All content must be original and between 400 and 1000 words long.

5. Credits – Add a credit at the beginning of the post which reads: “This is a guest post from [your name] of [your blog, if any].” You may link from your name and/or blog name. Add one-paragraph credit at the end of the post which begins with your name and can include up to two links.

6. Formatting – If you’re a WordPress blogger, write the post as a draft post on your blog, then copy and paste the HTML and email it as a .txt (Notepad) attachment. DO NOT SEND HTML IN A WORD DOCUMENT! Make sure there aren’t any tags specifying fonts. If you don’t understand this, send a plain text document and we’ll fix it.

7. Images – A relevant image should be included with all guest posts. The size of the image needs to be exactly 580 pixels wide and at least 250 pixels tall.

8. Affiliate Links– These are not allowed.

We’d also love to be able to guest post on your own blog as well if it fits.
